East Linton Drama Group - "The Young Stars" success

"The Young Stars" first night was a great success, with excellent performances from everyone.

The show was a mixture of songs and comic drama. It started off with some performances from "Annie", with its mixture of sadness and joy. It also had good singing and movement.
Then came the first play - Bar Wars. This was a tale of rivalry between two Italian restaurants, with 'Grandma's Secret Pasta Recipe' being stolen from one of them. After various twists and turns and plenty of laughs, the dilemma was resolved. There was some great acting from the young cast.
This was followed by song and choreography from "The Sound of Music" with the audiences clapping and joining in.
At the dress rehearsal, the night before the first performance, it was discovered there was insufficient time for costume changes, so some of the adults from the Drama Group were called on to provide wee 'fill-in' sketches.

The second half started with a funny play about two robbers trying to steal the gold at the end of the rainbow, but being thwarted by a succession of people arriving and spoiling their plans. Eventually they had to leave without their swag, thinking that they had found the start of the rainbow, not the end, but as they left it was revealed they were looking in the wrong place.
Next, after a short adult sketch, was the final musical piece - selections from "Oliver". The cast gave some super performances, with good choreography and, all too soon, the show was over.

The audiences, after applauding wildly, left with smiles on their faces after a superb evening's entertainment.

And all tickets for Friday and Saturday were sold out!!
