Broken Footbridge at Preston Mill
The recent thaw has had at least one casualty - the footbridge over the Tyne at Preston Mill.
A tree has succumbed to the river in spate and has toppled down on to the bridge, stoving in some of the sides.
Some clearance work has been done already but the damage should be repaired soon.
