WRVS volunteers

Dear All

I am writing to ask for your help.

WRVS is a national charity with over 70 years’ experience and 45,000 amazing volunteers of all ages, who support older people to stay independent at home and active in their local community. Our extraordinary history of service to local communities is matched only by our passion to make Britain a great place to grow old.

We would like to recruit more volunteers for our service in East Lothian.

We understand that at the start of the school terms, many parents/carers consider what may be available for them to fill some of their new-found free time.

After retirement, you may find that you’ve got a lot of time on your hands, even after doing all the things you’ve promised to do.

WRVS is aware of the fact that many people find it hard to get back to work after a long stint away. Unemployment can often take away your confidence and your self-esteem and make you doubt whether anyone needs you or your skills.

WRVS volunteers are delivering a variety of services in East Lothian and we need more volunteers to help with Good Neighbours and transport

Just a couple of hours every week or fortnight can make a big difference

We provide any training necessary and also reimburse expenses so that volunteers are not out of pocket and we are flexible enough to fit in with the demands on modern families.

Anyone wanting to find out more about how, by working together locally, we can make Britain a great place to grow old should contact us on 01875 819694 or visit wrvs.org.uk.
