Small grants from your Community Council!
Local Grants Scheme: AELCC Leader funding
The Association of East Lothian Community Councils has obtained £50,000 of European funding from the Tyne Esk LEADER fund. Local groups can now apply for grants from this through their Community Council, using a much simpler process than the main LEADER application.
The money is for rural areas so this includes all East Lothian Community Council areas except Musselburgh.
Who can apply?
Constituted community groups, voluntary organisations, social enterprises, groups of small businesses or even individuals who have an idea for a project which will benefit the local community.
How much?
You can apply for up to half the cost of your project with a maximum grant of £2000. You will need to show that you already have the other half, either from your own funds or from another grant. Your Community Council can help you find other sources of funding.
What type of project?
To tie in with LEADER objectives, projects must:
- help revitalise rural communities through a new service, facility or business or through a new way of doing something that already exists
and/or
- help the local economy in some way, however small.
